Daryl and John I have been a BIG fan of yours since 1973. When I first heard "She's Gone", I was hooked!!! Up until last night I had only had the opportunity to see you in concert two times (in 1976 and 1977) at the Toledo Sports Arena. Since there was no Ohio tour date some of us traveled up to your concert in Pine Knob. It had been 20 years since I've been able to catch you in concert and I just wanted to tell you both that you BOTH STILL GOT IT!!!! I've literally grown up on your music and continue to be one of your number one fans. I am anxiously awaiting the release of "Marigold Skies" and hopefully an Ohio tour date during the mini-tour this fall. Here's wishing you much success and happiness. For all the happiness you've given me over the years and continue to give me. I love you both!!!!!!! "One" of your number one fans. Deb Twiss

I have seen at least 7 of their concerts. I attended the Merriville show 6/27 and was amazed to hear the wonderful sound of Daryl's voice again. Eighteen years later, now 30 years old, I had the oppoturnity to meet and talk with Daryl & John, now I can die a happy woman!!!!!

I attended the Star Plaza Theatre concert in Merrillville, IN and it was just awesome. The dynamic duo sure haven't lost their touch!! The new songs were just excellent and I can't wait till the new album is out. Their sound was just great also. If there is anyone out there with pictures of their concert, I am interested in buying some. Please e-mail me with the information.

I am a 18 year old Hall and Oates fan from Cordova, TN, only 1 hour from Tunica, MS. What really ticks me off is Hall and Oates is coming near us, and I can't go because Sam's Club in Tunica ONLY ALLOWS 21+ people in! WHY WHY WHY?????? Anybody know how to make a fake id?

Hey everyone-- boy, it's been a while since I checked out Marc's guestbook. Glad to see interest is strong, both in the page and upcoming tour. :) Yes, the duo is officially out with Arista. If you were able to make it to the Hard Rock Live showing, great! (it was cool!) If not, I hope the energy that went on there comes across on TV. Marc, keep up the good work-- and don't slack off next week just because you're GETTING MARRIED! :) - jrn

I don't know what it is, but Florida seems to be being left out of all the tours I want to get to see this summer. First the Lillith Tour has completely ignored us and now my favs Hall & Oates had a date in January cancelled without explanation and now have no new dates in Florida scheduled. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?????????

Hi! I'm a die hard Hall & Oates fan. But I've never been to a concert. In the album "sara smile", the song "CAMELLIA" makes me to want to go to Atlanta. In the album "LIVETIME", Jhon sang "THE EMPTYNESS", and "I'M JUST A KID (DON'T MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A MAN" very sadly. It shook my heart. In the album "BIGGER THAN BOTH OF US", "BACK TOGETHER AGAIN" is emotional. In the album "ooh yeah!", the song "everything your heart desires" gave me calm satisfaction. In the album "soul alone", the song "written in stone" shows me the eternity. In the album "Can't stop Dreaming", the song "Something About You" makes me gentle. After listening to the beauty of their voices, instrumentation, and music for so many years; I can easily understand why people love Hall and Oates so much. It is not just the artistry that comes through, but the loveliness of their hearts and soul that make them two of the greatest songwriters and singers of our time. Happy twenty-fifth anniversary Hall and Oates. What a great collaboration!!!!

I've been a fan ever since I heard Casey Kasem counting 'em down & introducing "Sara Smile" as the duo's first hit. Daryl's solo CD "Can't stop dreaming" is by far is best solo CD. Its too bad it wasn't exposed to the General Public. The rest of us can only truly appreciate it. From start to finish that disk is strong! I'm trying to find a copy of "X-Sta- tic" on CD. I have the vinyl, but it would be nice to hear "Wait for me" on Cd and not the live version from "Rock & Soul". To Daryl & John(and with a new release coming up)Its good to have you "Back together again!!!"

I just want to tell you you have created one of the greatest web pages I've ever seen! I've been a Hall & Oates fan for over 15 years and been to their shows in Tokyo more than 10 times. (I feel very lucky to live here because we've got a chance to see them live almost every year.) I saw Daryl's solo tour last year, and it was just wonderful. He sang about half of the songs from "Can't Stop Dreaming" album, and some from his previous solo albums plus a few Hall & Oates songs. He was so full of energy on stage (as usual) and I just didn't want it to end. If you're interested, I'd be happy to tell you more about Daryl in Japan. I would also like to hear from those of you who did or will see them elsewhere in the world. Please E-mail me.

How come you don't include songs from before Whole Oates (I think) like Deep River Blues. I have songs I don't know what Album they came off of like Earth Magic and I'm Tired of Wearing Buckskin. I know these are not the usual stuff, but I'm beginning to wonder what's going on. One time I heard the song Deep River Blues in a commercial for Levi's Blues and it was Daryl and John singing. Hey, what was that about?

Daryl & John have been my favorite musical act since I was in high school in the early 80's. I often have dreams that they come out with new songs, and I wish that I could record those dreams and submit the songs to them. I have a habit of quickly scanning through radio stations in the car, and turning back to the song that I like the most. I remember going through stations in 1984 and hearing Daryl's voice for what was probably less than a second. I immediately turned back and heard "Out of Touch" for the first time. If they would ever consider allowing fans to "pre-listen" to a new album in order to suggest which songs should be singles, I would kill for the chance to be one of those persons. There's a recurrent theme among Hall & Oates fans: It doesn't matter what others think; we KNOW that these men are talented. I hope that their success soars once again.

My mother and I have been long time H&O fans. We have seen them in concert 5 times. My friend and I stayed at the same hotel when they played Springfield, MA and we saw Daryl as he came out of his room. We taped their videos from MTV and other televised concerts which we really value! We are excited with the possibility of another concert tour. It has been too long. My mother still thinks they should have won a Grammy in 1980 for "Kiss On My List."

Also, remember there's that 2-cd greatest hits from Razor & Tie and RCA will release a Hall and Oates box set either this fall or sometime in 1998!!

I believe that War Babies, X-Static, and No Goodbyes were all released on CD, but not in the U.S.. I have No Goodbyes on CD from Japan and it was extremely expensive. Also Past Time Behind itself I don't believe has been released on CD, but their are many versions of those recordings on various unofficial/early years CD's. I hope this answered Royce's question as well as others.

Haven't visited the page in a few weeks - what wonderful changes you have made! To "datboy" and any other H&O fans who may be interested (re: his noting that Daryl appears on Robert Fripp's "Exposure" album - also check out Peter Gabriel's album 'Peter Gabriel II' from around that time. Daryl is featured singing (and, if I'm not mis taken, playing some piano too) on several tracks...look for DIY. So glad to see I'm not the only longtime (and, to some, entirely loony) H&O fan around! So glad they are (finally) releasing a new album - I've been in withdrawal for some time. Of course, it helped tremendously to have Daryl's new album to listen to (and what a great one it is). Looking forward - watch out Blockbuster!

This is a terrififc page. I have been a Hall & Oates fan since the early eighties. I have a newspaper clipping from 1985 when they appeared at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia. I believe they shot footage for the music video Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid at the Coliseum. Unfortunately, I have never seen them in concert. That is a dream of mine. Other groups have come and gone in my heart but H&O will always have a place.

This is a great Web page. I decided to search the web for Hall & Oates on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a well developed site. I have been a fan since the mid- eighties. I even have a newspaper clipping from my local newspaper from 1985 when H&O performed at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia. I have never been to a concert. When they were doing most of their touring, I was too young to go. Maybe one day I'll get to see them in concert. Other groups have come and gone in my heart but Hall & Oates still remain. The working title on the new cd is "Marigold Skies" which is one of the songs. There could be a song called "Romeo is Bleeding" but I'm not sure. According the gang at RSI the Cd is finished. No word on the release date for the cd or first single. It should be sometime in June; unless Arista delays it. They also said CSD should be officially released sometime in May or June also. For those H&O fans that have AOL, check out the message board in "Musicspace". It's a place for music fans to place messages about their fav music groups/singers. There's a H&O board & it's great! You can hear fellow H&O fans opinions about H&O and even find out some news on H&O. Lori & Diane from RSI do post messages & will answer your questions; if they can. I check it out daily! MSaifU

I'm 26 years old and have been mesmerized by Daryl since I was about six!!! Since then I've been to many concerts in the Saratoga, New York area. I collect just about anything and everything and I'd love to hear from other fans. I think Daryl has the most beautiful voice in the world with the most romantic energy. Not to mention, he's beautiful too! I can't wait to find a copy of the new collection CD released in Japan. My favorite line from a Daryl Hall song..."true love is timeless and unconditional..." It's so true. Most fans even love those not so wonderful songs because with his sound and style he can make the worst song worth listening to again and again. It's great to know that the greatest musicians ever to stand on the face of the earth are putting out a new record in July. Just curious....someone please let me know if there are any tentative tour dates around mid-New York. I live right across the river from Daryl. They used to play at the Mid-hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY about once every other year. They haven't played there in... gosh must be about 4-5 years now. Last time they did, they played an acoustic set of all their songs. Way awesome! They did a pretty good job filling the seats, too! I can't understand why they haven't come back!! I'm totally bummed over this! Can you acually request a tour date and place.....??? That would be cool....hahahah! Sendin' my Lovin', Belinda.

My girlfriend and I saw you in SF 3/10/97 and the show was one of the best shows I have ever experienced - and I've been to a lot. Your music moved both of us beyond description. Can't wait for the new album and we will plan to be in LA in July for your show. Your music made a special night, with a very special woman even more special. Thanks for the memories! Nick and Joan

hi, here's some news for those who haven't heard. From Carlie Borba's Hotline Sheet - - "Get ready to rock!!! The new Hall & Oates album is almost finished. . . a few vocals left to complete and they are ready to hit the stage. I have heard the album described as "H2O meets Big Bam Boom". It rocks, lots of guitars and the best work they have ever done. It should be released in the first part of June. "Can't Stop Dreaming" will be out "officially" in late May - early June

Hi-Had to check out your page after I thought I was sitting next to John and Tanner on a plane from Reno to San Francisco in March. Now I'm positive it was him. Tanner is adorable and John very amiable as we tried to keep Tanner entertained all the way to San Francisco. Nice page, and I'm pleasantly surprised to rediscover the duo.

Finally, the ultimate use of the Internet to pay homage to Hall and Oates! I was a huge fan in the 80s (like everyone was) and I'm looking forward to hearing their new material. The "Can't Stop Dreaming" album is good, but still isn't as good as "Three Hearts In the Happy Ending Machine." I hope their new album rocks a little and features all original material. I'll keep track by checking in with the home page!

hello all. just dropping by to tell you that I saw the guys in san francisco at the filmore on 3/10 and it was just fabulous!! they looked great, everyone was on, we were right up front with our arms on the stage, and they did 3 or 4 encores (i lost count!). what a great show! daryl mentioned that they had been working on some songs for the new h&o record and that everything was feeling good between the two of them (yeah!) i yelled at t-bone and john to play some of the new stuff, but they just smiled at me. my friend and I met up with a girl that had flown in from japan just for the show! she had a great time and she was thrilled to get a guitar pick. anyway, it was a great night and I just wanted to share it with you guys. i hope everyone reading this gets to see them soon!

Greetings. There seems to have recently been a little bit of chatter here (mostly negative) regarding rapper B-Legit's "Ghetto Smile". I'm afraid I have to let "y'all" know this track is fully "approved and authorized". Proof of this statement came on a program called "Flava TV", which showed the video of Daryl Hall himself singing along with B-Legit. I read somewhere that Daryl is a big rap fan, because he hears aspects of it that remind him of the 1950s doo-wop style he loves so much (oh, well...). On a more positive note, I hear H&O are working hard on a new record. By the way, great page Marc - keep up the good work!

Aloha from Hawaii. Just last night (03-14-97), I just saw H&O's concert here in Honolulu at the Nimitz Hall. I knew the show would be great, but I was overwhelmed at how awesome these guys (and their band) REALLY are!! I don't think they played a single tune from their hugely successful "Private Eyes" album, instead focusing on their 'blue eyed Philly soul' groove. In fact, after opening with a stripped-down, non-synth version of "Out of Touch, Out of Time", they stayed pretty true to an apparent, unspoken committment on their part to play the kind of music they like best. And they easily won over the capacity crowd. Before closing the concert with a killer cover rendition of "Me and Mrs. Jones", the audience was treated to a huge roster of hits and a sampling of solo numbers from both Daryl and John. Perhaps what made the concert really, really cool for this reviewer was the fact that the backup band included 'original' sidemen T-Bone on lead guitar (blowing away his predecessor G.E. Smith) and Charlie on Saxes and keyboards. It was a thrill to see these great players alongside H&O after all these years. In addition, the newer guys (drums, bass, and organ) really contributed to the 'new' H&O sound -- a sound which had lots of musical integrity and terribly catchy musical hooks. As a final tribute to this fantastic show by Hall/Oates, you should know that the concert started more than one hour late, and the restless crowd (including my date) had begun booing due to the long wait. But the very moment Daryl/John and company hit the stage, this same booing crowd started cheering wildly like it was the second coming of you know who. And the cheering continued long after the THIRD ENCORE by the fabulous Hall & Oates. Long live H&O !!!!

I was listening to an R&B station at work yesterday and heard a horrid remake of "Sara Smile". So, I had to get out my copy of "Rock & Soul Volume 1" to "clense the pallet" so to speak. Anyway, VERY NICE PAGE! Please keep up the good work! By the way, is there a "Hall & Oats" Bio on the web anywhere?

I was so happy to find Hall & Oates had a website!!! I have been a fan of the guys since the 70's and was wondering if they had broken up, since Change Of Season was released in 1990. I've seen these two great guys in concert twice and was lucky enough to get second row seats the 2nd time I saw them. Needless to say, it was fantastic!!!!!! I have ALL of their albums (vinyl & cassette) and was fortunate enough to find the RSI Hall & Oates website and order Daryl Hall's new CD "Can't Stop Dreaming". Daryl Hall never ceases to amaze me with his vocal range!!!!!!!!! His voice gives me goosebumps. I am SO HAPPY to hear that the guys are back in the studio working on a new release for late spring/early summer. I am looking forward to hearing their voices again. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to see them on tour if they get close enough to my area. Daryl & John, I love you and hope you'll be making music for all of us fans for years to come. Don't wait so long between releases, though!! You gave us all a scare. Until I found the website I thought you had broken up. Glad to find out you're still around and hope to see you in concert and get the new release soon!!!!!

I just received Daryl's latest solo project "Can't Stop Dreaming". What a great record. The man has the greatest voice I've ever heard. I've been a fan since "Voices" back in the early 80's. Have seen them live about 8 times since then. You really can tell how gifted and talented Daryl Hall is when you see him perform live. How about the version of "She's Gone" on his latest record? I look forward to seeing the two reunite to record some new stuff. They definitely work well together. Even though Daryl obviously carries the duo, John's presence is important. They especially write well together. Great web site! It's how I found out about Daryl's cd. Thanks! Had an old friend of mine spend an evening with the duo after one of their shows about 5 years ago. He says they are cool to hang out with. What do you say to Daryl Hall? Anyway, Take care everyone.
